You wake up. Your face feels dry.
Do you:
A. Wet it.
B. Remove your balaclava.
C. Understand that Buddha must want it that way and let it be.
D. Turn off the overhead heater you had installed over your bed.
E. Blame global warming and vow to buy some solar panels for your car this afternoon.
F. Apply a hydrating serum, then your face cream.
If you picked B, you are correct!
Balaclavas are are a common cause of dry skin. Try switching to a regular beanie, using one leg of sheer nude stockings, or use a silk scarf instead, which will prevent that nasty itching and chafing that can occur from acrylic head and face coverings.
Aaand i've just been informed the actual answer is in fact F.
My apologies.
But hang on: Why? And what is a serum?? Surely that's crazy talk!! Someone's been smoking university cigarettes!!
Think of it like this: Using a thicker face cream works temporarily, or cosmetically, or even properly if it's good enough, but applying and massaging in a dedicated hydrating serum does the whole job, because serums are TREATMENT PRODUCTS, and thus are targeted at doing one thing very very well. Just like bananas. Or elves. (You can also buy anti-aging, or anti-acne, brightening, firming serums etc. But that's irrelevant. Sshhh.)
Remember this simple equation and you'll never have dry skin again!*
Serum: Shot of tequila.
Face cream: Glass of wine.
So you can imagine how powerful the two combined are! WOW!!!
If you are moneyed up - drinks are on you, eh? - go for SkinCeuticals vitamin B hydrating serum, Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair, Chanel Hydra max serum or Ella Bache hydra plump boosting serum.
Not so cashed up? That's too bad. You could try rosehip oil (Trilogy or Kosmea), Olay regenerist serum (anti-aging and hydrating), or maybe even sleeping with Someone Important to get yourself a raise.
Good luck!!
