There is a lot I could say about the choices made by Amanda Bynes' hair and makeup people before the US Hairspray premiere last night.
A lot.
I could make references to the fact as she's not about to pose in crotchless panties in People magazine there is no need for that kind of tacky, porno, sparkly eye/sparkly lip, trashy, far-too-much-liner-in-use painted doll look.
I could also possibly suggest that skin as young and plump as hers doesn't need one tenth of the amount of makeup she's got on, expecially not in those proportions (read: lots, everywhere.)
I may hint that while her tan is probably real, and therefore accurate shade-wise, it may make her look cheap when she complements it with cleavage, cascading extensions and That Makeup.
And finally, I could imply that her hair, which has been bleached and extended and tonged and flicked to within a Pamela-Anderson of its life, may benefit from being less blonde, and shorter and more, well, how she used to have it when she was cute and funny and clever on her own TV show.
But I don't need to say aaaany of that.
They know what they're doing, right?

ehh. amazing te xt!

Has anyone noticed that Amanda's eyes look really small and close together when she has all the eye makeup on??? She must do her own makeup for red carpets ect. because she never looks like that in movies

I agree with you Fruity (as I usually do) but do you really think A-Byne sat there and just let that all happen to her? As you said, back in your day, you wore your skirts shorter and your make-up heavier and I'd be fairly confident in saying that nobody was going to tell you otherwise.

It makes her look older than she is but not in a good way... like a 40 yr old trying to look 20 by wearing all that make up and stuff.

Kiddo fruit, your comment was interesting and salient enough that I felt compelled to reply.
I deliberatly refrained directing any of my commentary towards Amanda (Bynesy or A-Byne to friends) but rather at Her People, who I believe were too heavy-handed on a girl who is already pretty enough.
It's not about her being a fresh little fruit and looking as sexy as she pleases as a 21 year old, cause bruised bananas, my makeup back then was 675 times worse and my skirt 345 times shorter, it's about giving the girl a makeup that accentuates and reveals her gorgeousness... Instead of one that scribbles all over it with a big glittery, glossy, powdery whiteboard marker.
Less is more, you know?
Ok I just spilled my water all over my desk and now it's seeping into my comput

I like her better brunette. The way she looked in she's the man. (And the amanda bynes show)

Agree with the makeup... But the hair - Huh? I think it looks awesome. Take away the skanky makeup and tone down the tan and she would look hot.

Oh come on. Give her a break. She looks HOT. And if I were about to be photographed by all the world and criticised in blogs across the net (sorry Fruity... I love you but, there is always Brittany to use as an example) then I would make sure I was made up to an inch of MY life. No blemishes, big boobs andd what girl doesn't dream of getting hair extensions to live out the dream of BEING Barbie. This was her day in the sun (just like the brides who have posted here) and when she's in her late 20s (like most us fruits) she'll look back and cringe but she's not - she's young and unlike the rest of us - pulling it off. When we see Abigail Breslin trying this next year at the Oscar's then we can start being worried.

CHAN)TELLE.
You take that back NOW.
You were a stunning bride; one of the best I've ever, ever seen. Beautiful. And so, as punishment for suggesting you looked even remotely ANYTHING like Miss Bynes, you must send me a shot of you as a bride so I may post it, and all can see how to Get It Right.
Go on.
Do it now.

She still looks hot. Fake, yes. But still hot.
Posted by: Sammie | July 13, 2007 at 11:05 AM
Poor thing.. I'm thinking maybe she's a just a little over excited with the whole hair & makeup thing after years of her being seen as a bit of a tom boy and not the 'hot chick'? I'm sure she'll settle it down soon

poor kid.
Posted by: ponikuta | July 12, 2007 at 11:38 PM
Oh holy-sheesh-burgers.
I kinda had all of that going on on my wedding day.
Whoops.
Posted by: telle xx | July 12, 2007 at 06:59 PM
I wd never have thought she looked like porno star til u said, but she so does!!
she was prettier when she was less fake.

You're so right. We mere mortals have full excuses for our high-school overindulgence in makeup, hairspray and fake tan....but this gal has PEOPLE, and therefore, no excuse to get it wrong. Poor lovey.
