She came out here to Straya for the very good Ksubi show at Fashion Week (Miranda who?) but accidentally also happened to be here for the logies, and a Maybelline New York party I just went to, to celebrate the launch of some new gear. (One of them being the new SuperStay Silky foundation, which Erin is the face of, and which is a very spiffy-looking dual chamber foundation containing one side of long-last foundation and one side of moisturiser/coverage extender that comes out together but separately, you know? They say it lasts 16 hours but as I've only had it in my possession for around 45 minutes, I can't back up or refute that claim just yet. Tomorrow, once I've tried it, I may have more to tell you.)
Anyway, so I interviewed her for The Magazine I work For, and we did it in - no shit - a cloak room closet. It was her suggestion (Sheesh! Diva!) because the green room was too far and neither of us could be bothered walking that far.
So she's perched happily there, in the dark, on a stark little stool, and she proceeds to compliment me on my shoes (Sheesh! Bitch!) I hit her back with admiration for her houndstooth print playsuit. She immediately grabs at the back of it to show me the label. "Oz (George from Ksubi's Definitely Excellent and Super Fly fiancée ) was wearing it and I loved it, so she rang My Pet sQuare and got them to send me one! I was so grateful, I just love it!" (Sheesh! Greedy! )
She then answered all of my questions honestly and openly - "I don't actually wear SuperStay Silky because I don't like my foundation to last that long - I prefer just wearing some Dream Matte Mousse on my t-zone and that's it." (Sheesh! High maintenance! ) Her skincare? Cetaphil. Her favourite skin care treat? Some random organic mask from her health food store. And this, from a woman blessed with some of the best, and most highly-valued and most recognised skin in the world. And when I asked those boring questions you always have to, like, what's in your bag, she opened it up and let me see the mess, listing cigarettes and lighter as necessities. (Oh come on. They all smoke.)
So. So. So so so so so refreshing. No textbook answers. No bullshit. No Anti-Journalist Mace in her eyes and in her answers. And she liked my shoes.
She's my favourite new fruit.
And I am so annoyed I was too cool to ask for a photo with her.
I need to get oooooover myself.

Even a girl like her is using organic products. She's beautiful, you're right.

Of course, it had to be another Maybelline foundation! DDM is nice though - you can even apply it with a fluffy powder brush to give that airbrushed quality.

She's beautiful!
I would have loved to have seen a 'happy snap' of her, and you too, of course. xx
